INEZA CHILDREN’S CENTRE

 
 

Founded in December 2015, Ineza Children’s Centre is a non-profit Community Based Organization (CBO). The Centre provides primary education, psycho-social support, and recreational, after school, and holiday activities, to address the holistic needs of children in the Kisoro District of Uganda.

The support that Ineza Children’s Centre has received from the Kisoro Children’s Foundation and other donors has enabled us to:

  • Build four brand-new buildings which provides a high-quality learning environment for the children.

  • Provide 70 full scholarships each year to children at Ineza Parents’ School.

  • Sponsor 100 girls, who would not otherwise be in school, with full scholarships for secondary school, nursing school, and university.

  • Continuously provide sanitary supplies for 600 girls at a local boarding school.

  • Install a water treatment system and smoke-free energy-efficient cooking stoves at Ineza Children’s Centre.

  • Create a children’s library with over 6,000 books; which is open to the public on Saturdays.

  • Host a yearly January vacation school.

  • Purchase and renovate a home adjacent to Ineza Children’s Centre, allowing for additional classroom space for the expanding school.

  • Build toilet blocks, install water tanks and shower rooms at a local girls’ school.

  • Create a playing field adjacent to Ineza Children’s Centre.

  • Purchase an ultrasound machine for the maternity area at a local hospital.

  • Build two playgrounds at Ineza Children’s Centre.

  • Provide disposable diapers for children born at the local hospital and children hospitalized at a local pediatric hospital.
